Buzzards Bay in Massachusetts is an ideal destination for boating enthusiasts. The Mattapoisett Yacht Club, situated on the western side of Buzzards Bay midway between the Cape Cod Canal and Cuttyhunk, offers excellent harbor facilities. Our harbor provides convenient access for vessels of all sizes, with launch services, moorings, and new clubhouse amenities available.
The Mattapoisett Yacht Club, which has a distinguished history dating back to 1901, experienced a devastating fire in 2021 that destroyed the club along with the Mattapoisett Boatyard. As with all major disasters, recovery requires time both mentally and physically. The year 2025 will mark a new beginning with the inauguration of a new clubhouse and improved facilities. We are profoundly grateful to the Mattapoisett Boatyard, as well as the McLean and Kaiser families, whose support has been instrumental in making this new clubhouse possible. MYC has a strong sailboat racing agenda which features two PHRF Round The Bay Races, a Tuesday night one-design Ensign Class series, and Wednesday Night PHRF series races. We are a partner in the Buzzards Bay Series Trophy. Cruising is also a large part of our boating activities for our members and MYC offers reciprocity with other yacht clubs for members. As our yacht club has gone through ebbs and flows caused by wars, hurricanes and now a fire. We have been offered a new beginning. Come join us and help make this be a very special year.
