Welcome to the Mattapoisett Yacht Club, established in 1901

Host of the 2016 Ensign National Championships

Mattapoisett Yacht Club, located on Buzzards Bay offers sailors plenty of wind and lots of racing competition, whether it be in one of our one design classes or in our big boat handicap series. Currently our Ensign and 420 classes race on Tuesday nights and our PHRF and Portsmouth handicap divisions race on Wednesday night. Competition is stiff but at the end of the night it’s all fun and games back at the Clubhouse or local watering hole as crews get together to “discuss” the nights’ races. Each season starts and ends with our signature Spring and Fall “Round The Bay Races”, a 26 mile pursuit race around Buzzards Bay.
This year also features the return of “ The Barking Bulldog Regatta” which is a one-design Regatta featuring Ensigns, 420's, Shields, and J-24’s. All proceeds help support the Old Rochester High School Sailing Team. MYC is also this years’ host for the Annual “Chowdah Cup” which pits rivals MYC and Angelica YC in a day of match racing in Ensigns.
But this years’ main event will be hosting the 2016 Ensign National Championships in August. Sailors from around the country will flock to Mattapoisett in an attempt to compete to be the 2016 National Champ. This week long event starts on Sunday, August 14th with a Kick-Off Party at Mattapoisett Boat Yard and ends Thursday night @ the Shinning Tides-YMCA Awards Dinner.
Mattapoisett YC also holds several social events throughout the summer and all are invited to join in the fun. Visit our website calendar or Facebook Page to keep up with all our activities.

Hope to see you soon,
Bob Warren Commodore
